Field trips
We believe that field trips are a great way to broaden your perspectives and take your learning outside the classroom. That's why, in recent years, we have taken our students to the Camerimage film festival in Poland, where they have enjoyed sessions with big names such as David Lynch and Lana Wachowski. They have also been to explore the set of ITV's Victoria in nearby Church Fenton. A number of our students were also invited to take part in an annual NBC Universal pitching competition in London.
Practical experience
Practical experience is built into our courses. You will often work on live projects with industry professionals. Past projects have included filming Red Nose Day, reporting on Fashion City York events, and pitching to digital media agencies.
We encourage you to use our network to build yours. Our industry connections mean we can help you gain work experience that sets you apart. Our students have gained work placements at the BBC, Emmerdale, True North, Orillo Films and many other organisations. Our partnership with Screen Yorkshire also means you will be based right at the heart of the country's fastest growing film and TV production hub.

With us you will have access to leading industry standard facilities. Our campus facilities include:
- 1 black box studio
- 2 multi-camera TV studios
- A fully equipped radio studio
We also have a specialist editing suite with Avid software and Adobe Creative Suite. You can borrow film and audio equipment from us to complete your assessments. Our dedicated team of specialist technicians are on hand to support you with your work.
