During your studies we take the time to get to know you, and help you to shape your own learning journey.

Your course content is informed by the latest research and developments in the subject area. You'll discover inspiring new concepts and engage with current debates that will stretch you to achieve your full potential.
Modules are taught through a mixture of lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials, and we'll encourage you to share your thoughts and apply your knowledge. You'll work with expert academic staff to develop your knowledge and skillset, benefitting from their years of experience in the subject.
Our courses are designed with employability in mind, helping you develop the skills employers are looking for. This could be through learning specific skills, professional placements, module content or hearing from guest speakers.
We also offer lots of additional opportunities to gain valuable experience beyond your course. A year working in industry is an option on many of our courses. You can also take part in our Students as Researchers scheme and contribute to the ongoing research work of our staff. Other opportunities include student internships, volunteering roles, and a chance to study abroad.

Practical learning
All of our courses offer an element of work related learning. This means you get hands on experience in your subject area, helping you to prepare for your next steps after graduation.
Industry experience and placements are built into many of our courses, giving you a great introduction to the workplace.
Academic support
We are here to help you make the transition to university study. As well as individual sessions with a personal academic tutor, you'll be able to develop your academic skills further through group tutorials.
Our Library and Learning Services team also provide lots of support with study skills, academic research, and digital technology. Specialist staff offer online and in-person tutorials as well as self-help resources.
Student voice
We want to make sure our courses provide you with everything you need to succeed. To help us achieve this, we work in partnership with our students during the curriculum design process.
During your studies, you'll be able to vote for a course representative to feed back your opinions. You'll also get the opportunity to share your thoughts through student surveys.
