Course information

Who is this course for?

This course has been designed for Performing arts teachers working in physical theatre and ensemble devising technique.

What will I learn?

You will learn a wide array of techniques and skills to help with the way you teach performing arts. From ways to warm up, ensemble games and creative tasks, we will provide you with inspiration for you and your students in devised theatre making. You will learn methods based on the work of theatre practioners including Jaques Lecoq, Amit Lahav, Lloyd Newson and Simon McBurney. These enable greater awareness of the body and a strong movement vocabulary. Key aspects will include physical movement skills, communicating narrative through the body, spatial awareness and accessing a greater range of movement qualities. Throughout the workshop, you will reflect on how physical theatre can be an inclusive form of theatre accessible to people with disabilities and limited movement capabilities.
