English Literature

My undergraduate and postgraduate degrees provided me with a thorough intellectual grounding in key debates in contemporary literature and critical theory. In particular, my MA enabled me to hone the independent research skills I needed for an academic career, especially during the dissertation project. Aside from these more practical skills, however, the Literature team helped me develop my critical voice, and instilled the confidence in me to apply for a PhD. I certainly could not have done it without the support of my lecturers.
