Why our voice matters

Whilst individual changes are important, one of the most powerful and impactful things we can do is to act collectively and use our voices, together, to push for system change.

The idea of a carbon footprint was actually a project set up by oil companies decades ago in a bid to shift the responsibility on the individual. Actually what we need to be doing is pressuring our leaders and institutions to listen to the science make the changes our society needs to see.

We have all the solutions to solve climate change, but what we are lacking is the political will, which is where we can all make a difference by using our voice.

How to get involved

There are so many ways to act collectively in York. There are a number of active groups, both on and off campus, including:
