Access instruments from around the world. Our music courses are not about specific genres. Instead they are your chance to explore different types of music from a variety of countries and cultures. We are passionate about decolonising the curriculum across the University. This includes the access to music our students have. You will be able to use instruments such as balalaikas, djembes, marimba and vibraphone.
Amazing facilities
The York St John Creative Centre is a purpose built space that features rehearsal studios, recital rooms and a 170-seat professional standard performance space. This is where most of your taught lessons will take place, as you explore music and music making using state of the art facilities and equipment. The innovative design and layout of the centre provides a unique environment for you to explore your creative practice.
