Outreach activities and projects
We work with schools to raise aspirations and increase understanding about higher education.
We offer a range of opportunities for all students to find out more about higher education.
We also run widening participation projects that reach out to students who are less likely to progress to higher education.
We run targeted interventions with schools that have students who meet the following criteria:
- Free School Meals
- Black and Minority Ethnic
- Local Authority Care
- Estranged students
- Disabilities, long term health or mental health conditions or learning difficulties
- Young Carers
- First generation to higher education
- Military service children
- Students who live in a low participatory postcode
You can read more about the criteria for selection in our Access and Participation Plan. The projects we run as part of this plan are listed below.
We also work with schools on a bespoke basis. If you would like to be arrange a workshop for your school please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We welcome guests from all faiths and backgrounds on our campus and outreach activities. Please see our Holy Days and Festivals page for more information on how York St John celebrates religious events and holy days.
