Disability support

Evidence

To access disability support, you may be asked to provide the Disability Support and Inclusion team with evidence of your condition.

In many cases, we can accept your declaration of your needs when arranging reasonable adjustments. However, where support involves limited resources (for example, studio accommodation or blue badge parking), or has financial or practical implications for the University, we may request appropriate medical or professional evidence. This helps ensure support is allocated fairly and effectively.

Accessing Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) will require medical evidence. You can find more information about DSA on the Student Hub.

Evidence support

If you think you may have a specific learning difficulty, you can use our online screener QuickScreen, and we will then invite you to discuss the results with us.

To be assessed for ADHD or autism, you will need to go through your GP.

You may be able to receive a Working Diagnosis if you are on the waiting list for a diagnosis. We can accept this as evidence for a Learner Adjustment Plan (LAP). Please ask your doctor or consultant to complete a Working Diagnosis Form.
