I hold a PhD in Finance from Leicester Castle Business School. I also obtained an MSc with Merit in Banking and Finance and a BSc in Banking and Finance from Bowen University. Additionally, I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Prior to my academic career, I gained valuable industry experience across the e-commerce and insurance sectors in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom. I worked in Nigeria as a Merchandiser/Pricing Analyst. I later joined Aviva Insurance UK, where I held several roles, including Pricing Analyst, Governance and Oversight Analyst, and Investment Governance Analyst. These roles strengthened my expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance, pricing governance, and investment oversight within a highly regulated financial services environment.
My research interests span finance, business management, and healthcare management, with a particular focus on corporate governance, credit risk, sustainability, leadership, and the intersection between finance and organisational performance.
I am also a member of several professional bodies, including the British Accounting and Finance Association, the British Academy of Management, and the African Academy of Management. These affiliations support my ongoing engagement with academic research, professional networks, and developments within the wider business and management discipline.
My teaching engagement spans three key disciplines: MBA programmes, Project Management, and Digital Marketing. Within these areas, I have delivered a range of modules, including Accounting and Finance for Decision Making, Business Development and Value Creation, Global Business Strategy, Business Improvement and Change, Project Risk Management, and Contemporary Digital and Data Skills.
My teaching approach focuses on translating theoretical concepts into practical insights that reflect real-world business challenges. I design lectures and seminars that encourage active participation through case studies, group discussions, and problem-solving activities, enabling students to develop critical thinking and applied business skills.
My research interests lie at the intersection of finance, business management, and healthcare management. I am particularly interested in understanding how credit risk and financial shocks influence firm behaviour, financial stability, and decision-making across sectors. In my work, I explore how financial systems respond to uncertainty and how organisations can build resilience in the face of economic disruptions.
More broadly, my research aims to contribute to the growing debate on sustainability at the intersection of finance and management. Moreover, I am also interested in how AI-driven tools, behavioural mechanisms such as gamification, and innovative financial models can support more sustainable, transparent, and resilient financial systems.
I am a member of several professional bodies, including the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), the British Academy of Management (BAM), and the African Academy of Management (AFAM). Through these affiliations, I remain connected to current developments in finance and management research, participate in academic conferences and professional networks, and contribute to ongoing scholarly conversations within my field.
