2020 Welcome Guide
It's time to move into your new home. Here is everything you need to know about Arrivals Weekend.
This year Arrivals Weekend is Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September.
Moving in is an exciting day. You will pick up your keys, move your stuff into your room, meet your flatmates and start making it home.
This page has all the information you need about booking a slot, picking up your keys and moving in.
Booking your arrival slot
You will need to book a slot to collect your keys and move into your accommodation.
Slots are 1 hour long and can be booked between 9:00am and 6:00pm on Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September.
You can book this slot by logging into the Accommodation Hub. You will need to complete your induction before you can choose an arrival slot. This should not take more than 20 minutes to complete.
Check-in and pick up your key
You will need to pick up your key from campus before you travel to your accommodation.
Where you collect your key from will depend on which accommodation you have been allocated.
|Accommodation site||Key collection point|
|The Grange||Holgate reception|
|City Residence||Holgate reception|
|St John Central||De Grey reception|
|Limes Court||Dining room extension|
|Garden Street||Dining room extension|
|Clarence Street||Dining room extension|
|University managed Housing||Dining room extension|
We will be operating a one way system in and out of these buildings for everyone's safety. Download our Arrival Weekend Campus Map (PDF, 0.3MB) for instructions on which entrances to use.
When you come to pick up your key, you will not be able to park on campus. However, we do have a limited number of spaces for blue badge holders.
There is a pay and display car park across the road from our campus on Clarence Street. You can find out more and get directions on the York City Council website.
We are doing everything we can to make sure you are safe on campus. To help, please:
- Keep 2 metres distance where possible
- Ask friends and family to stay off campus while you collect your key
- Use our one way system to enter and exit buildings
- Leave campus as soon as you have collected your keys.
Moving into your accommodation
Once you have collected your keys you can head to your accommodation site to start unpacking. There are just a few things to remember:
- Our Student Ambassadors will be on hand to help you find your room.
- There is on-road or onsite parking at all sites, but you will need to move your car once you have unloaded.
- Please only bring your family with you to help you move. This will help comply with social distancing guidelines.
You can contact our accommodation team at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like to make us aware of adjustments you require.
