Living in University accommodation
If you have decided to live in York St John managed accommodation, you have a lot to look forward to. When you move into your new home on Arrivals Weekend and settle into your new surroundings and meet your new housemates, it's a day you won't forget.
Now is the time to start getting things together to turn your room and communal areas into your new home: your place to study, socialise, relax and have fun.
Before you arrive
Before you move in to your new accommodation, you will need to complete a few tasks. You should:
- Complete your online induction through the Accommodation hub. This includes an induction video and fire safety introduction, and will help you get to know your accommodation.
- Book an arrival time slot through our online system. Bookings will open at the same time as online induction. You will receive more information by email.
You can follow us on social media to stay up to date with important information:
You can also join official Facebook groups for your accommodation site. For data protection reasons we can't share the details of who you will be living with, but you may be able to find some of your flatmates in these social media groups.

There are some circumstances where you may arrive on another date.
If you are part of our Early Start programme, you may arrive a few days before Arrivals Weekend. Find out more on our Early Start programme page, or email autismsuccesspathway@yorksj.ac.uk.
If you need to arrive after Arrivals Weekend, you will need to collect your keys from the Porters Lodge or Security Office on campus. Please let us know if you are planning to arrive after Arrivals Weekend by emailing accommodation@yorksj.ac.uk.
