With your support, we can enable more students to reach their full potential.

York St John University is dedicated to supporting our students during their times of greatest need, as well as levelling the playing field for those from less advantaged backgrounds.

Your donations will go towards supporting students who face significant barriers to higher education.

In the 2025 to 2026 academic year, our generous donor community supported 13 new scholarships for carers, parents, mature students, and those estranged from their families. Despite our increase in scholarship provision for this academic year, we still had to turn down 78% of applications because of an increase in need.

Together, we can do more.

Finances should not be a barrier to education. You can help students of all ages and backgrounds by donating towards our scholarships.

Stay connected to your York St John family. Our growing community welcomes alumni from York St John University, Ripon College and our other founding colleges.

York St John University was always my first choice. When I attended an Open Day back in 2017, I felt accepted and as if I belonged from the get-go. When I returned several years later, I had become a care leaver and found myself ageing out of the additional funding my home council had provided me with. I ended up applying for a scholarship and was successful. With it, I was able to purchase a bus pass and more resources to help with my learning and continuous personal development. Without that scholarship, I don't think I could truthfully say that I would still be in education. It has been a lifeline for my university experience and has enabled me to achieve far more than I would have expected. I cannot thank the donors enough.
