How to donate to our scholarships

You can make a donation online through JustGiving, our secure giving platform. You can choose whether to make a one-time or a recurring gift.

A regular gift helps support students throughout their university journey and allows us to plan future scholarships with confidence. You can set up a recurring payment online with JustGiving or using our form. You remain in control of your donation and can change or cancel it at any time.

You can donate by post by sending a cheque made payable to 'York St John University' to:

Please include a note with your name, address and contact details, and any additional information you would like to share in relation to your donation.

If you are a UK taxpayer please complete a Gift Aid form to increase your donation by 25% with no extra cost to you.

Text YSJ followed by your donation amount to 70085. For example, text 'YSJ10' to give £10 or 'YSJ20' to give £20.

Texts cost the donation amount plus 1 standard network rate message.

Fundraising is a great way to support our scholarships and help future students succeed. Whether you join an event or organise your own activity, our Alumni and Fundraising team will be there to help you make it a success. Please get in touch to discuss fundraising opportunities with our team.

You can donate to our scholarships from your monthly salary. As the donation is deducted before tax, it provides a highly efficient way to give.

Would you like to donate money to our scholarship scheme, for free and at no expense to you?

We’ve partnered with Easy Fundraising, a platform that allows you to donate money to our scholarships fund at no cost to you.

Simply create an account, choose us as your charity, select a retailer, and shop online as normal. Once you’ve completed your purchase, we receive a small percentage from the retailer at no extra cost to you. We do not receive any details about what you buy, or your payment information.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your gift with Gift Aid. Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, at no additional cost to you.

We can claim Gift Aid on donations made by cash, cheque, or standing order. Simply let us know if you are eligible and would like us to claim it. If you are donating by cheque or standing order, please be sure to complete a Gift Aid declaration form.
