This is a new event at York St John University designed to spark young people’s interest in Japanese language and culture. Aimed at students from Year 7 and above, the afternoon brings together Japanese food and sweets, Taiko (Japanese drums) live performance and workshop, a language showcase by current students, and conversations with our alumni.

By partnering with local Japanese communities and businesses, the event creates an engaging space for young learners and their families to explore Japan, Japanese language and culture, and discover how learning Japanese with linguistics can shape global opportunities.

This event is sponsored by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and York St John University.
