You can advertise a position in your company on Handshake. This is a careers portal for students and recent graduates at York St John University. It is free to advertise your vacancies.

Adding a vacancy to Handshake

All vacancies must meet the criteria in our Policy for Employers (docx, 31 kB)

You can add a vacancy to Handshake by doing one of the following:

  • Creating a company profile
  • Creating an account

Log in to Handshake

Creating a company profile lets you manage your own account, update your profile, add job vacancies and promote your events. Your company profile will need to be approved by the Careers team before you can add your vacancy. 

Creating an account allows you to add a one-off job vacancy.

Offer a work placement opportunity

We are always looking for local employers who can offer work placement opportunities for our students. 

A large number of 2nd year students take a work placement module between January and May. This is usually 10 to 15 days. It can be carried out over a number of weeks or in a block in May or June.

Recruit an intern

We offer both a student and graduate internship programme here at York St John University.

Student internships take place over the summer. These are an opportunity for employers to have a student carry out a project based internship.

Graduate internships allow your business to benefit from the skill, knowledge and new thinking of a recent graduate.
