About the Artists
Lucy is currently a Fine Art student studying at York St John University, and focuses on creating unique textured art work.
The materiality of her work is an important element as she find excitement in allowing her mediums to guide her mediums to guide her work. She also celebrates the beauty in imperfections, which are created by handcrafted textures, to make each piece interesting and original.
Alley Scout is a Yorkshire-based, freelance illustrator whose work focuses on wildlife and nature.
They typically work with coloured paper and card as their main medium, creating layered collaged sculptures for art installations, advertising and branding as well as bespoke commissions of pets. A passion for working with card led them to create a tarot deck ("Feram Fortunam"), based on collaged animal prints that they had designed for a tarot themed installation.
More about Lucy and Alley's work and the other artists and makers involved can be found on the York Open Studios website.
