Apply through UCAS

Your guide to applying through UCAS as an international student.

What is UCAS?

UCAS is the UK's Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. It is mostly used to apply for undergraduate courses.

If you apply through UCAS as an undergraduate, you can add up to 5 choices of university of course to your application.

Key dates

Date Event Details
3 September 2024 UCAS applications open Students can submit applications for September 2025 entry from this date.
29 January 2025 Equal consideration deadline Universities are required to consider all applications submitted by this date equally. York St John University continues to consider all applications equally after this date.
26 February 2025 UCAS Extra opens UCAS Extra is a service for students who have already applied and used all 5 choices on their application, but have not received any offers. UCAS Extra allows you to submit an additional application choice.
4 July 2025 UCAS closes Applications can no longer be submitted through UCAS's main cycle.

How to apply

If you would like to apply to study with us through UCAS, you will need:

  • York St John University's unique institute UCAS code: Y75
  • The unique UCAS code for your course. These can be found on our course pages
  • Clear scans of your official qualifications, certificate and transcripts where appropriate. These should be translated into English where necessary. Email these documents to global@yorksj.ac.uk when you have submitted your application.
  • Application fee: You will need to pay a fee of £28.50 when you apply. This fee may change in future application years.

Your next steps

If your application is successful, you will receive an offer to join York St John University.

Once you have your offer, you will receive an email invitation to register for Enroly CAS Shield, a system which simplifies your onboarding and arrival process.
