Information to help you apply for your visa to study at York St John.

Most international students need a Student visa to study in the UK.

Your Student visa will allow you to live and study in the UK for the duration of your course.

Your university becomes your sponsor in the UK. York St John University will be your sponsor after your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) has been issued.

As your sponsor, York St John is responsible for your student status. We have to make sure that you are actively engaging with your course because that's what we're sponsoring you to do.

Working in the UK on non-sponsored visas

If you have a non-sponsored visa, you are usually permitted to work in the UK without any restrictions, subject to UK employment law.
