Emma Louise Dickinson

Lecturer in Musical Theatre

Emma Dickinson

I gained an MA in Community Music with Distinction and a BA Hons in Music from The University of York where I was awarded the Vinson Scholarship. During my time at University, I took part in Dr. Helena Daffern's Centre for Singing Science Programme, researching singing health, choral singing practices, tuning and voice analysis. I am a singing teacher, vocal coach, director and musical director, teaching a variety of genres and musical theatre styles including devised and book shows. I am passionate about musical theatre and an accomplished singer and performer taking leading roles with several musical theatre groups in the region. Highlights include performing at York Theatre Royal playing the roles of Milly in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Anna in The King and I, Rizzo in Grease, Nancy in Oliver and Eva Peron in Evita, and performing in the UK Premiere of Monster Makers at Theatre@41.
