The Postgraduate Research School Conference is the free annual conference organised by the Research Office.
The Annual Postgraduate Research School Conference (previously Eat. Sleep. Research. Repeat.) aims to provide a collaborative and stimulating environment for the York St John researcher community to learn from others and present their own researcher journeys and experiences.
The conference includes:

2023
Our last conference saw five alumni return to discuss their own experiences doing a research degree, and give inspiring advice to a full audience of Postgraduate Researchers and academics.
2022
This year's keynote speaker was Dr Dominique Thompson, award winning GP and young people's mental health expert.
Dominique is also a TEDx speaker, author of 'The Student Wellbeing Series,' and co-author of 'How to Grow Up.'
2021
Dr Erinma Ochu, Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University spoke remotely to a campus based audience calling to renew the social contract of research and the civic duties of research organisations.
Erinma shared perspectives, counterstrategies and ways of working, performing and encountering transdisciplinary research leadership across cultural and disciplinary settings.
2020
With the global pandemic affecting the running of physical events on site, 2020 saw the first online conference which was a great success.
Delegates enjoyed a keynote presentation from soon to be Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer Professor Robert Mortimer.
2019
The inaugural conference took place in 2019 and began with 2 keynote presentations from academics from 2 very different fields.
Professor Andy Hill (Sport) and Associate Professor Vanessa Corby (Art) gave an insight into their journeys to their current roles and advice and guidance for those starting their research careers.
