Join us for a day of celebration and collaboration at the Institute for Health and Care Improvement Research Showcase, hosted at York St John University. This event will highlight the breadth and impact of research related to health and social care conducted by both staff and students from across the university. Research will be showcased through a variety of posters, oral presentations and other formats.

Thousands of people across the region invited to share their understanding of cancer to help shape NHS cancer services

14 October 2024

A regional survey of over 5,660 residents is to be carried out by York St John University on behalf of Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance. The Institute for Health and Care Improvement (IHCI) at York St John University and Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance are working in partnership with local Healthwatch organisations to undertake the survey.

Research Showcase celebrates York St John’s advances in health and care improvement

9 July 2024

The Institute for Health and Care Improvement (IHCI) held its inaugural Research Showcase event on 25 June 2024 in the University's Creative Centre. Attracting over 90 delegates from across the University and beyond, the Showcase brought together expertise from researchers, practitioners and healthcare partners. The event highlighted the breadth and impact of research related to health and social care; from burnout in hospital staff to maternal mental health, child nutrition to the masking of grief.

Health research launched for coastal residents

The Institute for Health and Care Improvement is working with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to support the development of research to benefit the health of the community of Scarborough and surrounding area with the new collaborative research initiative SHARC.
