Join us for a day of celebration and collaboration at the Institute for Health and Care Improvement Research Showcase, hosted at York St John University. This event will highlight the breadth and impact of research related to health and social care conducted by both staff and students from across the university. Research will be showcased through a variety of posters, oral presentations and other formats.

World’s largest ever study on chair-based yoga for people with long-term health conditions shows mixed results

Researchers from the University of York, York St John University and Northumbria University have successfully completed the world's largest ever study into the benefits of chair-based yoga for older people with multiple long-term health conditions.
Research Showcase celebrates York St John’s advances in health and care improvement

The Institute for Health and Care Improvement (IHCI) held its inaugural Research Showcase event on 25 June 2024 in the University's Creative Centre. Attracting over 90 delegates from across the University and beyond, the Showcase brought together expertise from researchers, practitioners and healthcare partners. The event highlighted the breadth and impact of research related to health and social care; from burnout in hospital staff to maternal mental health, child nutrition to the masking of grief.
Health research launched for coastal residents

The Institute for Health and Care Improvement is working with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to support the development of research to benefit the health of the community of Scarborough and surrounding area with the new collaborative research initiative SHARC.
