Help with finances

All students and postgraduate researchers can access support and guidance on financial matters throughout your time at York St John.

You'll be able to access self-help pages on a wide range of financial topics through our Student Hub. You can meet with specialist staff to discuss issues in more detail, including government funding, York St John funding, and general budgeting advice.

We also run campaigns throughout the year to provide money saving tips.

Budgeting and money advice

We have subscribed to Blackbullion to help our students with budgeting.

Blackbullion is an award-winning online financial wellbeing tool. It can help you with student life and equip you with money skills for life. You can create a budget using their online budget calculator. They also have a helpful blog section that offers advice and tips on managing money in various scenarios.

You can register for free on the Blackbullion website.

Blackbullion also have a student budgeting app which helps you create your own budget, get spending insights and saving suggestions, and manage your money with confidence. You can earn bullions while engaging with the app which can then be exchanged for prizes.

Student Support Fund

The York St John Student Support Fund provides financial assistance for students and postgraduate researchers when financial circumstances change.

Student Support Fund

We also offer support through short-term emergency food assistance. This support is for students who find themselves in an unexpected situation without food, and is designed to help relieve immediate pressure during this difficult time.
