Our Study Abroad programme is an incredible opportunity for you to spend a semester or a year of your York St John degree studying in a different country.
We have exchange agreements in place with universities all around the world that have been carefully selected for their compatibility with York St John University courses. For non language students, all modules you study abroad are credit bearing and will count towards your York St John University degree. For language students, the modules are non-credit bearing and will not count towards your degree.

This area is well connected with the rest of Spain - Barcelona is 60 miles away and Madrid is 350 miles away. The University of Luxembourg was founded in 2003 and is the only public university in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. 60% of students are international students, and the majority of staff members and academics have an international background.

Aichi Shukutoku University was originally founded in 1905 as Aichi Shukutoku School of Girls and became Aichi Shukutoku University in 1975. It is less than 2 hours from Tokyo and Osaka.

Chiba University
Chiba, Japan
Chiba University was established as a national university in 1949. Its main campus is located 50 minutes by train from Narita International Airport and central Tokyo.

International Christian University
Tokyo, Japan
International Christian University (ICU) was founded in 1949, and envisaged as a 'university of tomorrow'. ICU's main campus is in western Tokyo, close to the city of Mitaka.

Kanagawa University
Yokohama, Japan
Kanagawa University was founded in 1928 as an evening school, and developed into a university in 1949. Its main campus is located in Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture, overlooking Yokohama Bay and city skyline.

Kobe University of Foreign Studies

Founded in 1946, Kobe City University currently has around 2,000 students. The city of Kobe is located in central Japan, about 370 miles from Tokyo. It is a major international centre of economic, cultural and academic activity.

Sophia University was founded in 1913. It has around 12,000 students, with around 9% international students. The campus is centrally located, in walking distance of the Imperial Palace. It is also close to Yotsuya station, which is just 5 minutes by train to Shinjuku.

Toyo University

Toyo University has around 31,00 students, including students from all of Japan's 47 prefectures as well as other countries. It has campuses in Hakusan and Akabanedai (Tokyo), Asaka and Kawagoe (Saitama), and Itakura (Gunma). All of them are within walking distance from the nearest train station.

The University of Shiga Prefecture was established in 1995 and is located on the eastern shore of Lake Biwa, in Hikone City. The university has around 2,800 undergraduate students.

Yamagata University was founded in 1949 and has around 8,500 students. It has 4 campuses spread throughout Yamagata Prefecture. Located in northern Japan, Yamagata has a rich natural environment with seasonal activities year-round.

Gachon University was newly launched in 2012 when 4 previous universities were integrated. It is located in Seongnam, close to the South Korean capital city, Seoul.

Hallym University
Chuncheon, South Korea
Hallym University was founded in 1982 and has 8 colleges and 6 schools. It is located in Chuncheon in the north of South Korea, 1 hour by train from Seoul. Chuncheon is the capital of the province of Gangwon-do and is a popular tourist destination.

Hanyang University, Erica Campus
Ansan, South Korea
Hanyang University was founded in 1939. The university's Erica campus is located in Ansan, close to the cities of Incheon and South Korean capital, Seoul.

Incheon National University

Incheon National University was granted university status in 1988. It is based in the city of Incheon in the north east of the country, and is less than 30 miles from Seoul.

Jeju National University
Jeju City, South Korea
Jeju National University was established in 1952 as a junior college and now has 13 colleges and over 10,000 enrolled students. Jeju City is located on Jeju island, off the south west coast of South Korea.

Kangwon National University
Chuncheon, South Korea
Kangwon National University is one of the 10 core national universities in South Korea. The university is in the city of Chuncheon, and is 1 hour away from Seoul.

Keimyung University
Daegu, South Korea
Keimyung University was established in 1899, and now has 15 colleges with 36 departments. It is located in the city of Daegu, in the southeast of the Korean Peninsula. It is 2 hours by express train to Seoul, and 1.5 hours to Busan and the coast.

Kookmin University is a private university located in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. The university is close to cultural events all year round, and hosts study abroad students from all over the world.

Kyung Hee University
Seoul and Suwon, South Korea
Kyung Hee University was founded in 1949 and has campuses in the Dongdaemum district of Seoul and in Yongin, near Suwon. It hosts multiple museums on its campuses.

Kyungpook National University (KNU) is a national comprehensive university, established in 1946. It is located in the south eastern part of the Korean Peninsula in Daegu, a central city in the Gyeongsang region.

Sookmyung Women's University was founded in 1906 on the grounds of Yong-Dong Palace. It is located in Yongsan District in central Seoul, and has around 15,000 students.

Sung Kyun Kwan University is the oldest university in South Korea, founded in 1398. Its Seoul campus is located inside the original city wall and overlooks Changdeokgung, the most well-preserved royal palace in Korea.
