Our Study Abroad programme is an incredible opportunity for you to spend a semester or a year of your York St John degree studying in a different country.

We have exchange agreements in place with universities all around the world that have been carefully selected for their compatibility with York St John University courses. For non language students, all modules you study abroad are credit bearing and will count towards your York St John University degree. For language students, the modules are non-credit bearing and will not count towards your degree.

Lakehead Thunder Bay campus was established in 1965 and is ranked number 1 in Canada for undergraduate research. The campus is situated of the north shore of Lake Superior, the world's largest freshwater lake. The surrounding area has breathtaking nature and plenty of outdoor recreation.

Munich University of Applied Sciences is the largest university of applied sciences in Bavaria, spread over 3 large campus sites. Universitat Rovira I Virgili (URV) is in the province of Tarragona, in the north east of Spain. This area is well connected with the rest of Spain - Barcelona is 60 miles away and Madrid is 350 miles away. The University attracts about 500 exchange students every year, so you will be part of a strong international network.

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences is a small university of just over 6,000 students, across 4 campuses. Pori is the tenth largest city in Finland, and is situated in the south west. It has rail, bus and air connections to a number of cities, including Helsinki to the east and Stockholm in Sweden.

The State University of New York at Potsdam is one of America's first 50 colleges and the oldest institution in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. It is located on the Raquette River, around 7 hours drive from New York City but close to the major Canadian cities of Ottawa and Montreal.

Breda University of Applied Sciences is a medium-sized, government-funded higher education institute. Breda is an old city in the south of the Netherlands, close to the Belgian border. It has rail links to Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the north, and Antwerp and Brussels to the south.

The University of Regina is one of Canada's top 15 comprehensive universities. It is a short distance from the Regina International Airport and is nestled in Wascana Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America.

Nagoya University of Foreign Studies is a small university, but it has international students from all around the world. It is located in the Aichi-prefecture area of Japan, at the edge of Nagoya, Japan's fourth largest city, and less than 4 hours by rail to Tokyo.

Okayama University

Okayama, Japan

Okayama University is a national university with over 140 years of history. Okayama Prefecture is located in the centre of West Japan, and the university is 10 minutes from Okayama station by car. By train, it is 1 hour to Kyoto or 3 and a half hours to Tokyo.

Sophia University was founded in 1913. It has around 12,000 students, with around 9% international students. The campus is centrally located, in walking distance of the Imperial Palace. It is also close to Yotsuya station, which is just 5 minutes by train to Shinjuku.

Toyo University has around 31,00 students, including students from all of Japan's 47 prefectures as well as other countries. It has campuses in Hakusan and Akabanedai (Tokyo), Asaka and Kawagoe (Saitama), and Itakura (Gunma). All of them are within walking distance from the nearest train station.
