Academic quality

Our approach to academic quality

Our strategy for ensuring that our programmes meet internal and external academic and professional standards.

York St John University is an autonomous institution that is committed to ensuring that our programmes meet internal and external academic and professional standards.

The University expects all members of staff and partners to share responsibility for academic standards and the quality of the learning experience provided at the point of delivery.

While these processes and standards are upheld by internal staff and collaborative partners, students also have an integral role in our quality assurance and enhancement procedures and mechanisms.

Student Partnership Plus Policy

Student partnership is a collaborative approach that recognises students as active and equal partners in shaping their educational experience and the broader University community.

It acknowledges that students possess valuable insights, perspectives, and expertise that can contribute to the enhancement of teaching, learning, and the overall university environment. Student partnership is essential for fostering a sense of ownership, engagement, and shared responsibility among students, and staff, ultimately leading to the delivery of high-quality education and a supportive university community.
