Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression Supervisor Training
Acquire the knowledge and experience to apply the Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) framework to counselling supervision.

This course will introduce you to to the PCE-CfD specific supervision competences to support you in working with supervisees to adhere to the PCE-CfD approach. Following the 2 day training course, you with complete a minimum of 6 supervision sessions with PCE-CfD counsellors and submit 2 audio recordings for assessment.

Course information
Who is this course for?
This training is aimed at counsellors who are already trained in person-centred or humanistic approaches and who have significant clinical experience. You must have successfully completed the PCE-CFD counsellor training course, including completion of the post training recording requirements.
You must also hold either:
Qualification to provide clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists (such as certificate or diploma in supervision).
Or:
60 hours' experience of providing clinical supervision to counsellors and/or psychotherapists in a healthcare setting.
What will I learn?
This supervisory training course will prepare you to offer support and supervision to counsellors offering depression-specific therapy.
How will I learn?
This course involves 2 days of training training.
The first day is distance learning, completed at a time convenient to you. You will be required to complete a piece of reading and a short activity prior to the second day. The second day is delivered face to face on campus from 9.30pm to 4.30pm.
You must complete 6 supervision sessions with Counselling for Depression trained counsellors and then submit 2 audio-recorded supervision sessions for assessment.
Completion of the training and successful assessment of these tapes will result in a successful pass, and you will receive a certificate.
Course leader biographies
Sue Jewitt
Lecturer in Counselling
Sue has worked at York St John University since 2020 and is also a practising British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Counsellor. She trained as a humanistic counsellor at York St John University after previously working in TV and theatre production. She is now a lecturer teaching on the Counselling and Mental Health BA(Hons) and Counselling Postgraduate Diploma. She is the course lead on the Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression Training for counsellors working in NHS Talking Therapies.
