This course combines the rigour of postgraduate study with the transformative power of Action Learning (AL). Delivered in partnership with York St John University and Value Improvement Projects Limited (VIPL), it is designed for reflective practitioners who are ready to:

Modules
Action Learning Question (40 credits | Compulsory)
This module is delivered by VIPL, and focuses on the real world application of Action Learning (AL) methodology.
Self as an Instrument of Change (20 credits | Compulsory)
On this module you will learn about coaching, psychometrics, and reflective practice for deep personal insight.
Course leader biographies
Dr Suzie O Aidoo
Suzzie is the director for Postgraduate Certificate in Action Learning Facilitation (ALFA). She is a leadership development specialist, strategist, and Chartered Insurer with experience spanning both higher education and professional practice. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to bridging theory and practice, supporting professionals to translate evidence-based frameworks into confident decision making, meaningful change, and measurable workplace impact.
She is Module Director for Contemporary Workforce Management and designs experiential learning journeys that integrate action learning, reflective practice, and coaching-style facilitation. Her approach prioritises psychological safety, inclusive participation, and disciplined inquiry, enabling participants to navigate complex challenges, strengthen leadership capability, and develop practical strategies they can apply immediately.
Suzzie holds a PhD in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship and a Master’s in Strategic Management and Leadership. She is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and holds Chartered status in insurance and risk management. She has also led professional development and stakeholder engagement initiatives through senior leadership roles in industry.
Dr Richard Hale
Richard is an action learning thought leader and practitioner. His career has included HR, learning and development roles in the engineering sector with GEC Marconi Avionics, and broadcasting with BSkyB. He is a doctoral supervisor on the Ashridge Hult Executive Doctorate in Organisational Change.
He is also an external Examiner at the Irish Management Institute, on their Management Practice MSc. He is a qualified Higher Education tutor, Fellow of CIPD, and has a Master's in Work Based Learning. He has carried out doctoral research into the dynamics of learning relationships. Richard is also the creator of the Action Learning Question methodology, as developed and applied internationally with business and public service sectors since 2000.
His consulting and leadership development career spans 30 years in UK, Europe, Africa, Australia and USA. He is the author of several books and articles in the field of action learning, leadership and personal skills.
