This course has been designed to align with the agile business and computing strategies aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). The skills and knowledge learned will provide you with the skills to lead and manage diverse workforces in an ethical and inclusive manner.

You'll develop into a socially responsible entrepreneur, able to work within the realms of:

Whether you have recently finished your Higher National Diploma (HND) or foundation year, this degree is for you. Even if you have been out of education for a while, the course is a great entry into higher operations of business and management.

Course structure

Year 1

Our academic year is split into 3 semesters. You will study:

  • 2 compulsory modules in semester 1
  • 2 compulsory modules in semester 2
  • 1 compulsory research modules across semesters 1, 2 and 3

Compulsory module

On this modue, you'll develop essential knowledge of cryptographic principles, secure systems design, and blockchain technology. Your focus will be on the risks and challenges associated with cybersecurity and the benefits of decentralized systems. Through case studies and collaborative projects, you'll learn the concepts on how to automate security tasks through scripting and implement cryptographic solutions in professional applications.

Compulsory module

As part of the social enterprise understanding, you will explore various strategies for creating social impact, critically analysing ethical and sustainable practices in the local, regional, and global business environment. You will review and identify prevalent social issues within a community after understanding the various theories surrounding social entrepreneurship. You will apply design thinking methodologies to devise innovative and practical solutions to these social problems. Furthermore, you will be able to evaluate available resources and the surrounding environment in order to develop a sustainable social business model.

Compulsory module

In an increasingly digital and data-driven world, the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI), financial technology (fintech), and generative technologies is reshaping industries and redefining traditional paradigms. You'll develop knowledge of these transformative technologies, emphasising their practical applications in the fintech sector and beyond.

This module is an opportunity for you to develop critical thinking skills necessary to evaluate how these innovations can address real-world challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and drive economic growth.

Compulsory module

On this module, your aim is to develop and nurture a critical appreciation of the contemporary global business environment. You'll discover how to use ingenuity in exploring and addressing linked aspects of business, environmental and societal challenges. Using your knowledge, you'll explore how these challenges can impact regionally, nationally and globally.

Through a journey of self-discovery and reflective practice, you'll learn how to embody a coaching leadership style. This knowledge will help you to confidently solve real-world, live issues through research informed practice. Additionally, you will explore innovative technology adoption as a key driver in shaping future business strategies. Here you can enhance your capacity to navigate and implement technological solutions in evolving professional landscapes.

All of your modules will be delivered using a variety of different teaching sessions. This includes:

1 to 1 time can be booked through our tutorial booker system.

You will also have regular individual tutorial sessions with your academic tutors to support your learning. There are opportunities to gain work experience through modules which take your learning beyond the classroom and into the city.

Fees and funding

To study for a degree with us, you will need to pay tuition fees for your course. How much you pay depends on whether you live inside the UK, or internationally (outside the UK).

Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may be increased in line with inflation, prior to the start of each academic year, and subject to the fee cap set by the UK government. Such increases to fees will be at the Retail Price Index (RPI) forecast rate, as advised by the Office for Budget Responsibility and the Office for Students. The only exception to this would be where government legislation deems otherwise.

If a rise in the tuition fee becomes necessary, we will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible and we will explain the reason(s) for the increase. Any tuition fee increase will only be applied from the start of the next academic year and will not be applied 'in year'.
