Having graduated from Northumbria University with a degree and Master's Degree I initially qualified, and practiced, as a solicitor.

I have taught at a range of universities including Newcastle, Anglia Ruskin, Sheffield Hallam and York. I started working at York SJ in 2020.

I teach on a range of modules that focus upon criminal litgation and criminal theory in a broad sense. My modules include:

  • Criminal Law and the Criminal Justice System
  • Crime & Society
  • The Law of Evidence
  • Criminal Litigation

I am particularly interested in the law of evidence, in particular the field of forensics. I have been consulted internationally in this field. My research in criminal law and the law of evidence tends to have a practitioner focus.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and also hold a PGCE.
