Dr Ally Shepherd

I am a trained teacher (CELTA, PGCE) with a background teaching EFL, ESOL, and CLIL in Europe, the Americas, and SE Asia interested in the intersection of language, migration, and education. I did my PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Education Policy with a focus on refugee-led community education and, since graduating in 2024, have worked at the University of Leeds (my BA and MA alma mater) as a researcher in the School of Education. I'm joining YSJ for the 2026-7 academic year, and am excited be teaching again.
