I am a Lecturer in Media and Film and digital games researcher in the School of Humanities.
Prior to coming to York St John, I lectured at Adelaide University (Australia) with a teaching focus on media cultures, game studies, digital promotion, production and 3D design.
My work investigates how mainstream gaming negotiates romance and social intimacy. Most recently, I published my first book, Romance in the Digital Game, with Routledge. This monograph explores representations of digital intimacy in broader gaming cultures. I’ve also researched more broadly into game studies, feminine play, emergent narrative, audience studies, and interactive feminism.
