I hold a PGCE from London South Bank University and a Master in Applied Theatre from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I co-run two participatory theatre companies; Waterloo Community Theatre and Project Phakama UK which is based at Queen Mary University in London.

I have taught in Primary school for many years and am now in HE, I currently supervise BA students' final dissertation and teach on some modules at Queen Mary University.

I am the co-founder of Curious Collective, an organisation which seeks community insight and new knowledge through creative practice/methods. I have extensive experience of community-based work and all my research interests reflect this. My PhD at York St John is a practice-based reflection inquiry into the potential and possibilities of making theatre with young people.

Recent publications

After many years of community-based work, working with young people and seniors, I now co-run two participatory theatre and performance-making companies; Waterloo Community Theatre and Project Phakama UK. I am involved in producing many arts projects in my local area, one being the annual Waterloo Carnival which sees around 800 people engaging with it every year.
