My work in academic development is centred around delivering and implementing aspects of the university's Learning and Teaching Strategy. My main areas of interest and responsibility are in anti-racism and decolonisation, and community and belonging. I co-convene YSJ’s Discussing Decolonisation events series and co-lead the Anti-Racist and Decolonial Pedagogies Community of Praxis. I am also conference lead for the university’s annual Talk About Teaching Conference.
I am involved in developing and delivering staff teaching and learning CPD and resources, as well as working on the YSJ AdvanceHE Fellowship Scheme and the academic staff induction.
My background is in literary criticism, focusing specifically on American literary modernism. I worked as a university teacher in English and American Studies at the University of Manchester and the University of Liverpool for a number of years, before moving into learning and academic development at Bradford College University Centre and Leeds Beckett University. I have published in both fields and continue to be interested in literary scholarship, as well as the scholarship of teaching and learning.
I work on both the Academic Induction and the AdvanceHE Fellowship Scheme.
I am particularly interested in both technologies for learning and anti-racist pedagogy.

I am co-chair of the ALDinHE (Association of Learning Developers in Higher Education) LearnHigher Working Group, a graduate of the AdvanceHE Aurora Women's Leadership Scheme and a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE.
