I joined the Physiotherapy academic team in January 2018 following nine years of clinical practice in the NHS. After graduating from Exeter University with a BSc in Exercise and Sports Science, I went on to complete the Pre-Registration MSc in Physiotherapy at Birmingham University. Once qualified, I worked as a rotational Band 5 at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and at York Hospital, developing my skills in all of the core areas of physiotherapy.
I then went on to specialise in the area of respiratory as a Band 6 Physiotherapist at York Hospital, which involved working in a busy acute hospital in areas such as critical care, surgery, medicine, amputees and paediatrics. I continue to work clinically at York Hospital through regular weekend shifts, which enables the application of current clinical experiences to our students.
