A graduate of the University of London, I have spent time as a researcher and research manager at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and in the Civil Service before returning to supporting teaching, learning and the application of knowledge at Charterhouse School followed by time at Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Huddersfield.
Although an analytical chemist by training I have diversified over my career to include interests in product design, advanced manufacturing and non-destructive testing technologies like X-Ray CT and electron microscopy. This is reflected by being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
My role is business facing. Looking for ways in which the range of knowledge contained within York St John can support academic colleagues, businesses and the community through knowledge exchange while also providing the university with an insight into current business needs and trends.
As a Londoner living in York for over 30 years, I appreciate the attraction of York, North Yorkshire and York St John with the added benefit of a London campus providing me with a reason to visit the capital from time to time.
