I am a Lecturer in Project Management at York St John University and a PhD researcher. I hold an MSc in Project Management and I am certified PMP, CAPM, and DASM.

I have a strong interest in project planning, risk management, and responsible business practice, and I enjoy helping students understand how project management theory is applied in real organisational and construction contexts. My teaching focuses on linking academic concepts with practical tools, case studies, and professional standards so that students can build skills they can use in the workplace.

I am passionate about student-centred teaching, inclusive learning, and supporting apprentices and students in developing both technical competence and professional confidence.

I teach across a range of undergraduate and apprenticeship modules in Project Management, covering areas such as Project Planning and Control, Responsible Business Practice, Stakeholder Engagement and Communication, Project Business Environment, Organisational Strategy and Decision Making, and Project Leadership, Innovation and Change.

My teaching approach is practical, interactive, and student-centred. I aim to help students understand how theories, frameworks, and tools are applied in real projects by using case studies, industry examples, group activities, and applied exercises. I place strong emphasis on developing core professional skills such as planning, risk management, communication, teamwork, and ethical decision-making.

My research focuses on the responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Construction Risk Management. I explore how AI can support risk identification, assessment, and decision-making in construction projects, while also examining the ethical, organisational, and technical challenges associated with its adoption.

I am particularly interested in understanding the opportunities, challenges, and risks of integrating Generative AI into construction risk management processes. My work aims to develop evidence-based frameworks and practical guidance to help organisations adopt AI in a safe, transparent, and effective way. This includes identifying key risk categories, prioritising risks under uncertainty, and evaluating the effectiveness of risk management practices.

Recent publications

I am actively engaged in professional activities that support teaching, research, and industry engagement within project management and the built environment. I contribute to curriculum design and module development across undergraduate and apprenticeship programmes, ensuring alignment with professional standards, industry needs, and accreditation requirements.

I hold professional certifications including PMP, CAPM, and DASM, and I regularly draw on these frameworks to support students and apprentices who are pursuing professional development and career progression. I also support apprentices with linking their academic learning to workplace practice and in preparing for assessments, professional reviews, and gateway requirements.

Alongside my teaching role, I am actively involved in research dissemination through conference presentations and journal publications, and I collaborate with academic and industry partners on topics related to digital transformation, risk management, and sustainable construction.
