I joined the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) team at York St John University in September 2026. Prior to this, I worked in primary schools across Leeds and York after graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2008.

Throughout my career, I have gained a wealth of experience teaching and leading across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have also held leadership responsibilities for a number of core curriculum subjects. My particular passion lies in Physical Education and promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of children. I have taken an active role within my schools and the wider educational community to champion high-quality physical education and support healthy lifestyles for young people.
In addition, I have worked as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) Mentor, supporting newly qualified teachers and postgraduate student teachers as they developed their professional practice. Supporting and encouraging new teachers during the early stages of their careers has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
