Alex Greaves

Lecturer in Occupational Therapy

Alex Greaves

I studied at York St John (formerly University College of Ripon & York St. John) qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1998. After completing my post registration rotations, I specialised in spinal disorders whilst working at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham before moving to Yorkshire. For the past 20 years, I have focused on adult community intermediate care, long term condition management, palliative care and proactive frailty care working as part of a variety of multi-disciplinary teams. Most recently I set up and led a proactive Occupational Therapy service for a group of GP practices in North Leeds.

I have significant leadership and management experience built over the course of my career including clinical and strategic leadership roles in a community health care NHT trust and a large hospice.

I joined York St John University as a Lecturer in January 2026 teaching on the pre-registration BHSc and MSc Occupational Therapy courses.
