Staff Profile
Dr Benish Khan
Lecturer of Business and Management
I am a lecturer of Business and Management at York St John University, London Campus. I earned my PhD in Business and Management from Queen Mary University of London, completing my doctorate with no corrections. My research focuses on marginalised individuals in work, organisations and households. I specifically researched their work–family dynamics, voice and silence, and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). At Queen Mary, I am affiliated with the Centre for Research on Equality and Diversity (CRED), the Department of People and Organisations, and the Department of Business and Society. With CRED, I worked as a Research Associate and Co-Investigator on Business in the Community’s (BiTC) Race at Work project. Through my research, I aim to contribute to improving the lives of marginalised groups and to the creation of more equitable and inclusive organisations.
Professionally, I am passionate about teaching and, drawing on my research background in business and management, striving to deliver high-quality, research-informed learning experiences. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). As a lecturer, I have contributed to a range of undergraduate and post graduate modules and implemented various initiatives to enhance student engagement and has consistently received strong student feedback ratings (4 out of 5) for teaching excellence across modules.
