My passion is to support the wellbeing and performance of emergency responders and the service delivery of our emergency services particularly at complex or Major Incidents.
I graduated from Buckinghamshire New University in 2014 with an honours degree in Policing and Criminal Investigation before moving across into the ambulance sector with a desire to care for my community through pre-hospital emergency medicine. I went on to study at Sheffield Hallam University and became a registered paramedic in early 2019, shortly before we were faced with the Covid-19 pandemic. This was a particularly eye-opening time where, as with all of society, we were having to manage and respond to a constantly changing situation whilst facing the unknown. Throughout my career, whilst always operational, I've worked in a number of roles, from investigating incidents across the service and identifying learning needs, to supporting the implementation of new projects in our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). Most recently, I worked as a Paramedic Team Leader and Operational Commander. This role required leadership and management of frontline staff, supporting their wellbeing and development, and to provide a command role at the most complex and large-scale incidents, coordinating the ambulance service's response in partnership with other emergency services and agencies.
