Emma Coward-Gibbs

Hello! I’m Emma, and I’m one of the two Specialist Support Advisers here at York St John. We offer specialised information advice and guidance to our diverse student community. I work with BAME students, commuting students, mature students, commuting students and LGBTQ+ students. If you identify as belonging to one of these student groups and you have any questions or concerns about your studies or your life at YSJ please do get in touch with me. I would be more than happy to speak with you about your concerns and to help you find a way forwards.

I studied English and History, and then Medieval Studies, at the University of York, and originally planned on working in museums! I started temp work at the University of York and found that I really enjoyed working with students. After that, I worked for eight years at the University of York across a variety of student support roles. I am new to York St John and I am really looking forwards to helping students from a wide range of backgrounds to achieve their potential.
