Dr Glyn Hallam

I joined York St John in 2024 after 7 years as a Lecturer and subsequently Subject Leader at the University of Huddersfield. Prior to this I completed my PhD at the University of Sheffield and was then a post doc at the University of York working on a Stroke Association project investigating the rehabilitation of comprehension and language impairment in post-stroke aphasia.

Research
I have a wide range of research interests in the areas of cognitive psychology, biological psychology, cognitive neuroscience, language, emotion, decision making, cognitive control, and aphasia
I have also more recently become involved in research surrounding the 'student experience' in Higher Education, and in particular research that investigates students' sense of 'belonging'
