Gurujosh Roth

Lecturer in Law, Solicitor and Supervisor at York St John Law Clinic

I joined York St John University Law School in 2022.

I am a qualified practicing Solicitor.

I have a background in Mental Health Law and Public and Private Family Law (inc. Child Protection). I have experience in Housing Law (Landlord and Tenant), Property Law (Conveyancing), Public Law and Human Rights, Criminal Claims Injuries Compensation, Domestic Abuse Law and Court of Protection.

I was previously employed as a solicitor in-house with The City of York Council and at both regional and national firms, Ison Harrison Solicitors and Irwin Mitchell LLP respectively.

I was a finalist for three regional awards, at the Yorkshire Legal Awards:

  • Trainee Solicitor of the Year 2019
  • In-House Solicitor of the Year 2021
  • Diversity & Inclusion Solicitor of the Year 2021

With currently being a mentor with the charity GROW Mentoring, I am very passionate to use the experience to inspire the next generation of Law students as well as developing the York St Johns Law Clinic by taking a central role as a Solicitor and Supervisor.
