Greetings! I'm Dr Muhammad Umar Farooq, I am an enthusiastic business lecturer and researcher with a passion for teaching and a commitment to academic excellence. I joined York St John In 2022 and I currently serve as a lecturer and module director at York St John University, I teach Business, Marketing, and Project Management modules to postgraduate students.
My journey in higher education began in 2021 as an Associate Lecturer for (BA Hons) Business Management students of the University of West London. I have also contributed to the academic community at the University of East London and Regent’s University London, where I taught and supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate students, enhancing my pedagogical approach.
With a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), an MBA, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Strategy, I bring a blend of academic rigour and industry experience to my teaching. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), I am dedicated to teaching excellence. Additionally, I serve as an external examiner at both Northumbria University and the University of Huddersfield, further contributing to the broader academic community.

I have published research papers and presented my findings at various conferences, further demonstrating my commitment to sharing knowledge and advancing scholarly discourse in these areas.
