Staff Profile

Samanthi Rubasin Siriwardana

Lecturer

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University, UK, with a degree in Information Technology (Software Engineering) in 2012, followed by an MSc in Web and Cloud Computing from the same institution.

My academic and research interests span machine learning, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and human–computer interaction, with research outputs presented at both national and international conferences. I am actively involved in internal and external research collaborations, contributing to ongoing projects while also developing proposals for future interdisciplinary work.

In August 2025, I joined York St John University as a Lecturer in Data and Computer Science. I hold SEDA (UK) accreditation, reflecting my commitment to effective, student-centred teaching. My current teaching portfolio includes cloud computing, cyber security, and mobile application development, where I focus on combining strong theoretical foundations with practical, industry-relevant skills.
