Teaching
My teaching is grounded in experiential learning and simulation-based pedagogy, with a strong focus on connecting theory to practice. At York St John I teach across undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes, including Contemporary Workforce Management, Social Enterprise and Innovation. I serve as Programme Director for the PGCert in Action Learning Facilitation (ALFA), where I support professionals in developing reflective and facilitative practice.
In the classroom I use case studies, live projects and interactive learning methods to encourage students to think critically, creatively and ethically about contemporary business challenges. I also place emphasis on reflective practice and collaboration, supporting students to develop not only their academic knowledge but also the confidence, skills and professional mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
Research
My research focuses on the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, risk and workforce management, with particular interest in how organisations can leverage diverse tools and resources to enhance performance. I explore themes such as entrepreneurial design thinking, creativity in SMEs, and the role of innovation in driving sustainable growth. I am also interested in how artificial intelligence and digital tools reshape entrepreneurship and value creation. I am open to research supervision in strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, value creation and risk management.
Alongside this, I investigate experiential and simulation-based pedagogy in management education, examining how immersive approaches can strengthen employability, critical thinking and professional readiness.
