Supervised by eminent scholars in their respective fields; Dr Minoo Esfahani (Tourism and Visitors’ Economy Expert) and Dr Olalekan Adekola (Sustainable Environmental Specialist), my project is aimed at investigating how the practice of equity, respect and human dignity influences sustainability of tourism in York. To establish the effects of employee empowerment and well-being on the sustainability of tourism in York, as well as to examine the influence(s) of integrating ethical reflections in managerial decision-making on the sustainability of the tourism industry in York.
From a background of Sociology at Bachelor’s level from The University of Ilorin, Nigeria, I obtained MSc Human Resource Management from York St John University in 2024 and therefore seek to investigate at PhD level the impacts of humanistic management practices on the sustainability of tourism, thereby developing strategies and frameworks for the integration of the humanistic management approach into sustainable tourism policies and operations in York and by extension the United Kingdom.
