Yeji Han

I am Senior Lecturer in Korean and Linguistics. I teach various levels of Korean language, second language acquisition and intercultural communication. I have published my research in language learning and teaching.

Professional Activities

I am a member of British Association for Applied Linguistics. For peer-review activities, I served as an ad-hoc reviewer for Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching, Journal of Multilingualism and Multilingual Development, Studies in Educational Evaluation, and Transcultural Psychiatry. Also, I have reviewed book proposals and manuscripts for Routledge, Wiley-Blackwell, Cambridge University Press, and Science Books.

In South Korea, I served as an editorial board member for the government-authorised English textbooks for secondary school (2012-2014).

Research Interests

I consider myself as an applied linguist, as most of my research activities fall in language learning and teaching. My PhD dissertation was motivation and its influence on language performance in the case of Vietnamese learners of Korean language. Afterwards, I continued working with Korean language learners for my research on the topics of motivation, foreign language enjoyment, mobile-assisted language learning, study abroad, intercultural communication, etc.
