Dr Su Fitzpatrick

Lecturer in Geography

School of Humanities

Postgraduate Research Supervisor

My research interests circulate around how cultural policy, regeneration programmes and urban planning are experienced by the publics who are implicated in these sorts of fields. I have written about Liverpool's 2008 European Capital of Culture, cultural regeneration in West Bromwich, the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and most recently notions of heritage and belonging in the British post-war New Town. Alongside publication for an academic readership, I remain committed to generating outputs that a wider public audience will find of interest, these have included self-published comics, photographic exhibitions, an online blog, contributions to community newsletters and contributions to non-academic magazines including the Modernist and the 20th Century Society's quarterly.

I teach on the following modules:

  • 3GE304 Cities in Transition
  • 2GE308 Professional Practice
  • 1GE306 Tourism Geographies
