Hi, I'm Vic. I'm originally from Leeds, but I came to the University of York to study linguistics, and never left the city. After my undergraduate, I did an MA, and eventually a PhD. Alongside my PhD, I have made a career in academic support, specifically in teaching undergraduate students and developing activities for public engagement and community outreach of research.
With my background in postgraduate education, a key focus of my role is making sure that prospective students know about the postgraduate opportunities available to them after their first (or second!) degree.
In my free time, you're find me in the gym (Olympic Weightlifting. The style - I am most definitely not an Olympian), or my couch (reading some trashy novel - please don't ask what they're about), or in the garden centre (replacing my plants which I killed).
