Disability support

Disability support appointments

Meet with a member of the Disability Support and Inclusion team.

After you've registered for disability support, you can meet with a member of our team to discuss your needs in more detail.

Register for disability support

When you are registered, you can book an appointment using our Outlook calendar. You can choose whether you meet with us online or on campus.

You can choose to meet with either a Service Coordinator or a Disability Practitioner.

Meet with a Service Coordinator to discuss:

  • What type of support is available
  • The process of getting support at York St John
  • How to book an appointment for a Learner Adjustment Plan (LAP)
  • How to seek a diagnosis or obtain medical evidence
  • How to apply for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)

Meet with a Disability Practitioner to:

  • Create your Learner Adjustment Plan (LAP)
  • Create a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP)
  • Ask questions about the implementation of your recommended adjustments

Meet Blue, our therapy dog

When you start studying at our York campus, you'll also be able to book a session with Blue, our therapy dog.

Blue is there to listen, to be fussed or to sit quietly with. He can also be there while you discuss your support requirements with a Disability Practitioner.

Follow Blue on Instagram for an insight into the life of a therapy dog.
